Sparkee The Mascot was born on July 11, 1998 at the Atlantic League All-Star game hosted at The Sand Castle in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The All-Star Game was the first time that Atlantic League fans caught a glimpse of the now famous Sparkee The Mascot.

Sparkee received his name in a contest run throughout Central New Jersey to name the mascot before the 1998 season began. Sparkee was named after Patriots Manager and New York Yankees legend Sparky Lyle.

Sparkee was instantly embraced and given a home at Commerce Bank Ballpark where he is able to cheer on his favorite team all season long. When he is not at the ballpark, Sparkee is seen in the community at special events, fund raisers, parades, and anywhere he is requested by his friends in the area.
