Last season for Somerset, Hand pitched 103 innings over 24 games and struck out 77 batters before leaving the team at the start of the playoffs for personal reasons.
Prior to joining Somerset, Hand had two years of service at the Major League level, most recently with the Cincinnati Reds in 2015. The Tecumseh, Alabama native spent the first eight seasons of his professional career in the Brewers organization before playing in the Reds organization in 2015.

He was the 14th-round draft pick of the Brewers in 2007.
